We manufactured a general-purpose industrial vacuum equipment housing from aluminum profile, combining CNC turning and milling to achieve the required geometry. The core requirement: a smooth, scratch-free internal surface essential for vacuum applications. Achieving this requires more than just high-quality machining — it demands a systematic approach across surface finish, handling, and cleaning protocols. Research on aluminum vacuum chambers highlights that surfaces must have an internal roughness better than 0.8μm, be free from defects and machining marks, and undergo thorough cleaning to remove all contaminants. We implemented precision finishing passes with controlled parameters to achieve the required surface texture, followed by a multi-stage cleaning process: degreasing with industrial metal cleaning agents at 50°C, alkaline wash, and pure water rinse — removing all residual oils and machining debris. Post-cleaning inspection verified complete surface cleanliness and the absence of scratches.
| Project Name | Aluminum Profile Vacuum Equipment Housing |
| Key Metric | Specification |
| Internal Surface Condition | Smooth, scratch-free — no defects |
| Dimensional Tolerance | ±0.05mm on critical interfaces |
| Surface Finish | As-machined + polished/cleaned |
| Material | Aluminum profile (6061/6063 series) |
| Machining Process | CNC turning + CNC milling |
Dimensional verification via CMM. Internal surface inspected for smoothness and scratch-free condition via borescope/visual inspection. Cleanliness validated through contact angle testing or particle count verification.
Ideal for general industrial vacuum chambers, vacuum pump housings, degassing equipment, and vacuum drying systems where internal surface quality is critical for performance.
